Key Steps to Buying a Home -- Monday, June 20th, 5:30 to 7:00 pm

You want to buy a home, but don't know where to start? With home buying, knowledge leads to good decision making. In this session, you'll learn about what it takes to qualify for a mortgage, financing options, how much cash you will need, selecting and working with a realtor, finding the right property, home inspections, the closing process, and finally, taking possession of your new home.

Planning for Quality of Life in Retirement -- Tuesday, June 21st, 5:30 to 7:00 pm

Who will change my lightbulbs? How will I get an ice cream cone? And, who will I have lunch with? In this workshop, these three simple questions from the MIT AgeLab study can help you anticipate your quality of life and motivate you to plan for a satisfying retirement.

Both events take place at the USM Portland Campus, Abromson Center for Community Education, Rooms 108/109.

Workshops for Students

Town & Country is pleased to work with students at local high schools and colleges to help them become more savvy when it comes to managing their money. We know it is hard for young people to get started in life. This workshop provides a real world financial snapshot of what living on your own will look like. In these workshops, students build spending plan that includes everyday expenses like housing, food, student loans and transportation. Town & Country staff are on hand to answer questions and help students build a workable budget.
