Dedicated to helping the neighborhoods we serve in Southern Maine

Town & Country Federal Credit Union is passionate about the community, and we want to do our part to support the work of non-profit organizations across Southern Maine. That is why we launched the Better Neighbor Fund grant program in 2010.  Through the Better Neighbor Fund, we make grants available to local non-profits, charitable organizations and community groups serving the people of Cumberland and York Counties.

Since the program was introduced, Town & Country has donated over $400,000 to support 150 projects and programs designed to improve our local communities through this unique online program.

In 2026, Town & Country will be giving away a total of $33,000 in grants. We will be awarding $4,000 grants to the eight non-profit organizations that receive the most votes through this online program. The non-profit receiving the most votes overall will receive an additional $1,000. Grants can be used to fund special projects or support general operating expenses – whatever is most needed.

The Better Neighbor Grant Process

From September 1st through September 24th, Town & Country will accept entries for the 2026 Better Neighbor Fund. The first 20 entries that best meet the qualification criteria will be selected as nominees and advance to the voting phase. This will take place during the month of October on Town & Country’s website. Please review our guidelines before nominating.
