The Gifts Our Community Shares All Year Long

A Holiday Message from David Libby, President and CEO

As we enter the holiday season, a time filled with gratitude, reflection, and connection, I find myself thinking about the many gifts we receive throughout the year from our extraordinary members and community. While the holidays often remind us of the joy of giving, it’s important to acknowledge that at Town & Country, we are fortunate enough to experience that joy every single day. The generosity, trust, and partnership we see from members like you truly make this time of year feel especially meaningful.

The holidays are often described as a season of light, and for us, that light comes from the people and communities we serve. Whether through a conversation by video, chat, or phone or at one of our branches, a kind word shared with our team, or the trust you place in us to guide your financial life, each interaction is a meaningful gift. These moments reinforce why we do what we do and why we are so committed to continuing to earn your trust and partnership.

This year, we were reminded in a powerful way of how deeply our members value the work we do, and the commitment we have to helping people. We were especially honored to be recognized as the Best Credit Union in the 207 and the Best Credit Union in Portland. These awards mean more than words can express because they come directly from you—from member votes, community support, and the voices of people who have experienced firsthand what it means to be part of Town & Country. These recognitions are not simply accolades; they are gifts. They reflect the strong, lasting relationships we’ve built together and remind us that our work is making a difference.

As we think about gifts this holiday season, I’m reminded that not all gifts come wrapped. In fact, many of the most meaningful ones don’t. When a member tells us that their first home became possible because of our mortgage team, that’s a gift. When someone says that our guidance helped them navigate a challenging moment, that’s a gift. When a small business owner shares how our lending team supported their growth, that’s a gift. When a young person opens their first savings account with hope and excitement, we feel that, too.

Another gift we are grateful for is the opportunity to give back. At Town & Country, “local helping local” is far more than a tagline—it’s who we are. Through community programs, charitable partnerships, financial education, and initiatives like the Better Neighbor Fund, we are able to support organizations doing incredible work throughout southern Maine. That impact is only possible because of our members. Every account, loan, referral, and partnership strengthens our ability to contribute to the wellbeing of the community we serve.

The holiday season also gives us the chance to appreciate the countless small acts of kindness we see from our members all year long. Whether you participate in a community drive, bring a warm smile into a branch, offer feedback to help us improve, or simply choose to trust us with your financial wellbeing—every gesture matters. You inspire us daily and remind us how fortunate we are to be part of such a special community.

As we prepare to close out the year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude—not just on behalf of myself, but on behalf of every member of the Town & Country team. Thank you for the privilege of serving you. Thank you for your trust, your support, and the many ways you contribute to making Town & Country a place where people feel welcome, valued, and understood.

From our entire team, I wish you and your loved ones a warm, joyful, and peaceful holiday season—and a new year filled with hope, health, and possibilities. Thank you for being one of our nearly 40,000 member-owners, and for giving us so many reasons to celebrate this year and every year.

Happy Holidays,

Dave
