Managing Money: A Caregivers Guide to Family Finance

November 18 @ 12:30 pm 1:30 pm EST

When a loved one is facing dementia, cancer, a disability, other health conditions, or the challenges of aging, families and caregivers often face difficult emotions and decisions—including how to manage their loved one’s finances.

To explore some of the financial challenges facing caregivers, Town & Country is collaborating with the Alzheimer’s Association of Maine to offer a virtual education session on “Managing Money: A Caregivers Guide to Family Finance”. In this session you will learn how to start a conversation about finances with your loved one, the benefits of early planning and budgeting, how to assess long-term financial and legal needs, finding support, community resources and more.

If you are a loved one of or the caregiver for a person facing dementia or other debilitating health conditions, plan to join us on November 18th for an informative session where you will learn strategies and become familiar with resources to help you plan and navigate this journey.

Speaker:

Anne Romney is a volunteer presenter for both the Maine and NH/MA chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association for more than 15 years. With a background in education and group facilitation, she uses her personal experience with dementia in her family and her professional skills to support others who are dealing with this enormous challenge. Anne also leads Legacy Storytelling programs bringing people in the early stage of dementia together with student scribes who listen and write their shared memories. Anne is an experienced support group leader for caregivers and sees each program as an opportunity to both educate, support, and provide resources to participants. Anne has a Master’s in Education in Counseling from Lesley University and lives in Portsmouth, NH.
