Recently, Town & Country Federal Credit Union welcomed 20 area non-profits that serve Cumberland and York counties to our Scarborough headquarters for our annual ‘Better Neighbor Fund’ Reception.
The credit union awarded grants totaling nearly $30,000, a new record, to the eight non-profits receiving the most votes during the online, public vote in October. In addition, all other nominees were honored with a contribution in recognition of being nominated.
This year, Friendship House of South Portland earned the distinction of top vote-getter, receiving a $4,000 grant to support its mission of providing safe, supportive housing for men navigating recovery. In addition, seven non-profits were each awarded $3,500 grants as a result of the online vote, which received nearly 11,500 votes.
“At Town & Country, helping our neighbors is at the heart of everything we do,” said Dave Libby, President & CEO of Town & Country FCU. “The organizations we honored tonight reflect the best of Maine—people helping people, local helping local. We’re proud to support their work and celebrate their remarkable impact.”
