‘Local Helping Local’ Helps Long-time Partners Collectively Raise More Than $100K

At Town & Country, ‘Local Helping Local’ goes well beyond financial services to include a variety of causes and organizations in our community. Recently, Town & Country had a leadership role in two community fundraisers to support our long-time partners, Kids First Center and South Portland Food Cupboard.

In early May, TCFCU provided more than $10,000 in financial and in-kind promotional support for the Kids First Center Annual Gala. The credit union frequently partners with Kids First Center to provide financial wellness workshops throughout the year. The Kids First Center is a safe place for divorced or separated moms and dads to learn how to peacefully co-parent and how to keep children from the middle of adult disputes. This year’s gala raised more than $50,000. Jennifer Pallozzi, Board President of Kids First, said, “We are so grateful for Town & Country’s support of the gala. This money will go a long way in helping the families that attend Kids First Center programs.”

On Saturday, May 17, Town & Country again ‘stepped up to the plate’ in support of food insecurity as one of the major sponsors of the South Portland Food Cupboard’s ‘Feeding Neighbors in Need’ benefit concert. As one of the lead sponsors, Town & Country provided nearly $15,000 in financial and in-kind promotional support. Dwayne Hopkins, Executive Director of South Portland Food Cupboard, expressed his gratitude for Town & Country’s continued support. “Your sponsorship of our 5th annual “Feeding Neighbors in Need” Benefit Concert makes a significant financial difference for us. It helps us serve many more families in need.” The concert was a big success as it raised nearly $60,000 to help South Portland Food Cupboard provide thousands of meals to families throughout Southern Maine.
