Something to bark about! ‘dogust’ helps provide financial support, new homes for area dogs.

Long-known as Maine’s most pet-friendly financial institution, Town & Country had a tail-wagging good time partnering with the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in August to help raise awareness for dogs up for adoption and provide financial support for the work at ARLGP.

Affectionately known as DOGUST, the month-long effort highlighted dogs available for adoption throughout the month on social media, and Town & Country made a $100 contribution to the ARLGP every Tuesday and Thursday in August. In total, the credit union contributed $1,000 to help the ARLGP continue its great work.

Sara Johnson, Development Director at ARLGP, remarked, “Our Dogust partnership with Town & Country Federal Credit Union is such a great opportunity to draw attention to the benefits of adoption during the summer. We love being able to feature wonderful dogs and puppies looking for new, loving homes especially knowing they’ll reach new potential adopters through Dogust. We’re so grateful for our animal loving community and our friends at Town & Country Federal Credit Union.”

Jon Paradise, Senior VP at Town & Country, said, “Pets add so much to our lives, and we are grateful for the incredible work that ARLGP does each day to care for and to advocate on behalf of pets until they find a home. Our commitment to pets is further reinforced by the fact that we offer a Pet Loan, the first financial institution in Maine to offer this type of loan to help cover costs and expenses that can come with pet ownership.”
