At Town & Country, our focus is on how we can improve convenience and access for our members, not just in Maine but beyond. As part of our transition to a new debit card platform, we joined the Co-Op ATM Network earlier this year, which significantly expanded surcharge-free access from a couple hundred ATMs in Maine to 30,000 ATMs nationwide. As of now, there are 165 Co-Op ATM locations in Maine, including inside more than 60 Hannaford locations and most 7-Eleven stores. The number of Maine locations has been growing steadily and is expected to include even more locations throughout Maine.
When our new Debit Card and platform goes “live” on September 13th, we will exclusively belong to the Co-Op Network, which means Town & Country will no longer be part of the Maine-only Surf Network. We understand this will be a change for some of our members in the short-term, but we are excited at the long-term benefits and significant increase in surcharge-free access that using the Co-Op Network will provide to our members, whether traveling in Maine or nationwide.

Our new debit card, with significantly more features and services, allows us to now partner with the Co-Op ATM Network and enjoy the incredible surcharge-free access it provides. The opportunity to include 60+ Hannaford locations in Maine and 7-Eleven stores was also appealing in terms of convenience and access. Our commitment to continuously improve member service and experience is what this is all about, and our members are no longer limited to surcharge-free access only in Maine,” explained David Libby, President and CEO.
One of the perks of Town & Country’s Rewards Checking Account is up to $25 in monthly ATM refunds for anyone who qualifies. “While the Co-Op ATM Network offers incredible, nationwide convenience, we recognize that there may be times that members have to use an ATM not in the network. Our Rewards Checking Account allows qualifying members to use any ATM and get surcharge fees refunded up to $25, among the most robust refund amounts anywhere,” added Libby.
